How Do You Think Ontario Parents Object Vaccines In Science of Immunization

Here's what the typical person doesn't understand about the anti vax crowd (atleast some seemingly relevant portion). The problem isn't a lack of education. It's a distrust of authority. Scientific studies don't mean shit to me if I believe they're being manipulated for the sake of a hidden agenda. Of I can believe the studies, but distrust what's actually being injected.

Just don't allow the kids to attend public school. Home schooling is legal in the U.S. and Canada (two of the countries where the anti-vax movement is the strongest). If you think the government is shooting your kids up with poison for a nefarious reason, why the fuck are you letting the government indoctrinate your kids 5-8 hours a day? Homeschool them.

Don't want to? Tough luck, we don't want them in public school. Parents who refuse to vaccinate their kids should be forced to either homeschool them or pay for a private education in an institution that has no problems subjecting their students to the risk unvaccinated children constitute.

Nothing boils my blood more than people in a position of authority or power trying to do something like this for their own personal gain. Honestly yes there are issues in medical journals which should be addressed to help progress our knowledge faster. But people abusing the system (like pharmaceutical companies do) just makes me so mad. Ben Goldacre has written and talked about flaws in the system for awhile.

When you have their mindset and someone comes and tells you "Hey, there is this threat..." but it's not a threat you can perceive, much less understand in abstract, then your answer will be "I'll believe it when I see it. I've figured this much out so far, you stay in your yard and I'll stay in mine."
